Polygons: a new powerful mapping tool
With the recent release of polygons, you can now leverage this tool to add shapes to your map. Polygons are a great way to display the area size of an event, parking zones for a given city, or any other use cases where the area shape is a more accurate way to display on the map rather than place pin or route line.
Our motto is to always support creators as much as we can, so this feature is now available to all maps starting from the free plan without any limitations.
Polygons are extremely easy to use. To add one, just hover over the “+” icon on your map’s homepage and select the shape icon.
Interesting map utilizing polygons
The Bieno association, a non-profit organization for the revival of green yards, courtyards and urban public spaces, utilized the Mapotic polygon feature to map areas in the center of Prague. They leverage Mapotic’s ability to add rich content such as images, custom attributes and videos to the detail of the polygons. Take a look at their map for inspiration.

Bulk import of polygons
Importing polygons is not yet supported, however we are working on general improvement of the import tool that will also support importing polygons. Stay tuned!
